Nice introduction to a new series for Mercedes Lackey. She really reached her inner adolescent here... mood swings, feelings of isolation. The characters' personalities were strong, the feelings evoked by the occurrences in the novel were real, and the storyline didn't stray into boring territory. Cliff-hanger ending.
